We're bringing the community together for a food truck festival and we need YOU to help make it happen! This event is more than good food and good vibes; it's how we're launching our youth mentoring program, stepping up to fill a real gap in our community since the closure of our local Big Brothers Big Sisters chapter.

Day Before Set Up Crew

The Setup Crew makes the magic happen before the crowds arrive. As a Setup Crew volunteer, you'll work alongside Resonant Vibe staff to transform the space at Southgate Farmers Market into a festival-ready experience for hundreds of community members.


Key Responsibilities

  • Tape off food truck and vendor areas
  • Unload and organize supplies and equipment
  • Set up and secure 10x10 tents
  • Hang and place signage throughout the event space
  • Set up activity areas including cornhole and bounce houses
  • Assist with any last-minute layout adjustments as directed by staff
  • Leave the space clean and ready for a smooth event-day launch

Ideal Volunteer: Comfortable with physical activity and being on your feet for extended periods. A team player who can take direction and jump in where needed. No experience necessary, just a willingness to work and have fun doing it!

Day-of Set Up Crew

Setup Crew volunteers arrive early to transform the venue into a festival-ready space. This is a physically active role involving lifting, moving, and assembling event infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Unload and arrange signage, tables, chairs, and tents according to the event map
  • Set up the entry table, information booth, and waste stations
  • Hang directional signage and banners throughout the venue
  • Assist food trucks with identifying their assigned spots
  • Conduct a pre-event walkthrough with the Coordinator to confirm readiness
  • Transition to another volunteer role after setup if staying for the event

Ideal Volunteer: Physically fit and comfortable with manual labor. Punctual — early arrival is critical. Ability to follow a floor plan or layout diagram.

Day-of Coordinator Support

The Coordinator is the nerve center of the event. As the Coordinator Support, you'll work with Resonant Vibe staff to manage the volunteer team, handle surprises, and keep everything running smoothly — you are NOT assigned to a static post.

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrive early to oversee setup and confirm all volunteers are in place
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, staff, and the event lead
  • Monitor crowd levels and redistribute volunteers as needed
  • Handle any escalated issues (incidents, vendor problems, late arrivals)
  • Lead the pre-event volunteer briefing at 2:30 PM
  • Oversee teardown and volunteer sign-off at end of night

Ideal Volunteer: Leadership experience preferred. Strong problem-solver. Comfortable making quick decisions. Familiarity with the venue or event layout is a plus.

Entry & Ticketing

You are the first face guests see! Entry volunteers welcome attendees, scan or check tickets, distribute wristbands, and manage the flow of people into the event.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up the entry table before gates open at 3:00 PM
  • Scan tickets or check names against the guest list
  • Distribute wristbands and any event materials (maps, programs)
  • Direct guests toward the information booth if they have questions
  • Manage line flow to prevent bottlenecks at peak times (5:30–7:00 PM)
  • Count and log attendance numbers on the provided tally sheet

Ideal Volunteer: Friendly, welcoming demeanor. Comfortable with a fast pace. Basic familiarity with QR code scanners helpful (training provided).


Info Booth

The go-to spot for guests with questions. You'll staff the information booth, answer FAQs, hand out maps and schedules, and help guests find what they're looking for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Familiarize yourself thoroughly with the event map and food truck lineup
  • Answer guest questions about truck locations, menu highlights, and amenities
  • Distribute event programs, maps, and any printed materials
  • Collect lost and found items and log them
  • Communicate notable guest concerns to the Day-of Coordinator
  • Keep the booth tidy and organized throughout your shift

Ideal Volunteer: Outgoing and approachable. Good memory for details. Able to stay calm when answering many questions at once.


Crowd Flow & Wayfinding

Roving guides who help keep foot traffic moving. You'll be stationed at key intersections and high-traffic areas to direct guests, manage lines at popular trucks, and ensure a smooth, safe flow throughout the event.

Key Responsibilities

  • Know the full layout of the event — truck locations, restrooms, exits, first aid
  • Stand at assigned posts during peak hours and redirect foot traffic as needed
  • Assist with line management at popular food trucks to prevent blockages
  • Proactively approach guests who look lost or confused
  • Report any safety concerns or crowd issues immediately to the Coordinator
  • Assist guests with mobility needs in navigating the event

Ideal Volunteer: Confident communicator. Comfortable on your feet for extended periods. Situationally aware. Must be assertive but friendly when redirecting crowds.


Stage Hand

The Stage Hand is a volunteer position responsible for supporting bands and performers throughout their time at Good Vibes Food Truck Fest, helping keep entertainment running smoothly from load-in to the final set. This role plays a key part in making sure the music and performances happen without a hitch.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for performers' logistical needs throughout their time on-site
  • Assist bands and performers with equipment load-in and load-out
  • Run water and other refreshments to the stage area between sets
  • Help with mic stands, cables, and quick instrument or gear changes during set transitions
  • Relay timing cues from the day-of coordinator to performers, including time remaining and wrap-up notice
  • Monitor the stage area during sets and respond quickly to any equipment issues that arise
  • Coordinate with the day-of coordinator on the live entertainment schedule and lineup

Ideal Volunteer: Comfortable lifting and moving equipment. Low-key, dependable presence who's happy supporting the show without needing the spotlight. Able to think and act quickly if something needs adjusting mid-set. Reliable, punctual, and committed to the full event shift.


Supervising Kids Zone

The Kids Zone Supervisor is a volunteer position responsible for creating a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for the youngest attendees at Good Vibes Food Truck Fest. This role is the heart of the kids' experience and plays a key part in making the event memorable for families in our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all Kids Zone activities throughout the event
  • Monitor the bounce house and obstacle course to ensure safe usage, enforcing age/size guidelines and managing lines to prevent overcrowding
  • Engage with children and caregivers in a warm, friendly manner that reflects the Resonant Vibe mission
  • Maintain an organized, tidy Kids Zone space throughout the event
  • Coordinate with event staff and volunteers to address any safety concerns or incidents promptly
  • Ensure activities remain accessible and enjoyable for children of all ages and abilities
  • Communicate with parents and guardians as needed regarding their children's participation
  • Ideal Volunteer: Experience working with children in a school, camp, recreation, or youth program setting. Calm, patient, and energetic presence in a busy, high-energy environment. Comfortable making quick decisions to maintain safety and fun. Reliable, punctual, and committed to the full event shift


    Vendor Liaision

    The primary point of contact for food truck operators. You'll help trucks get situated, address their needs throughout the event, and keep communication flowing between vendors and event staff.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Greet and assist food truck operators as they arrive and set up (1:30–3:00 PM)
    • Distribute vendor packets including schedule, event map, and contact info
    • Check in with each truck at least once per hour to address any needs
    • Coordinate with the Coordinator on any truck issues (power, placement, etc.)
    • Assist with vendor teardown and departure process at end of event
    • Collect vendor feedback forms at the close of the event

    Ideal Volunteer: Professional and personable. Experience in hospitality, events, or customer service preferred. Comfortable problem-solving on the spot.

    Bartender

    The Bartender is a volunteer position responsible for serving alcohol responsibly in the beer garden at Good Vibes Food Truck Fest, ensuring every pour complies with Indiana DORA (Dram Shop / Retail Alcohol) regulations. This role is critical to keeping the event safe, legal, and welcoming for all guests.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as a responsible point of service for all alcohol sold in the beer garden
    • Verify that every guest requesting service is wearing a valid 21+ wristband before pouring
    • Check that wristbands appear unaltered and belong to the guest being served, requesting ID again if anything looks unclear
    • Decline service to any guest without a wristband, without exception
    • Monitor guests for signs of intoxication and cut off service when appropriate
    • Escalate any tense or escalating situation to a coordinator promptly
    • Keep the beer garden area organized and welcoming throughout the shift

    Ideal Volunteer: Bartending or serving experience preferred, though willingness to learn wristband policy on the day is welcome. Comfortable enforcing rules firmly and without exception. Calm, steady presence, especially if a guest pushes back. Reliable, punctual.

    Trash & Recycling

    Keeping the festival clean is a team effort! Trash & Recycling volunteers monitor waste stations, empty bins before they overflow, and help guests sort their waste correctly.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct a full walk of all trash and recycling stations at the start of your shift
    • Empty or swap bins before they reach capacity (aim for 75% full max)
    • Ensure recycling and compost are properly separated — correct guests kindly if needed
    • Place full bags in the designated collection area
    • Monitor the area around food trucks where waste tends to accumulate
    • Do a final sweep of the grounds at the end of your shift

    Ideal Volunteer: Detail-oriented. Physically able to carry full trash bags. Comfortable working outdoors in various conditions. A good attitude goes a long way!

    Roaming Support

    Roaming Support volunteers are flexible all-rounders who go where they're needed most. You might be helping at the entry gate one moment and managing a line at a popular truck the next.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Check in with the Day-of Coordinator at the start of your shift for assignments
    • Float between roles to cover breaks for other volunteers
    • Assist with crowd management during peak hours (5:30–7:00 PM)
    • Help guests with general questions and navigation
    • Support any role that needs additional hands as the event evolves
    • Serve as extra eyes and ears for the Coordinator, reporting issues promptly

    Ideal Volunteer: Adaptable and calm under pressure. Comfortable switching tasks quickly. A team player who thrives in a dynamic environment.

    Breakdown Crew

    Breakdown Crew volunteers help restore the venue after the event wraps. This is a physically active role — expect lifting, carrying, and lots of teamwork.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Begin breakdown after the last food truck closes (approx. 9:00 PM)
    • Break down and store tables, chairs, tents, and signage
    • Collect all trash and recycling and transport to designated bins or dumpsters
    • Remove directional and promotional signage from the venue
    • Return borrowed or rented items to the designated staging area
    • Confirm venue is returned to its original condition before leaving

    Ideal Volunteer: Physically fit and comfortable with manual labor. Night-owl energy required! Ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
